TRENDnet Simplifies Live Concert Monitoring and Connectivity [Case Study]

High-Speed Networking and Wireless Video Management Support Pro AV Team at the Milano Pride Concert

October 2026

Milano Pride event in Milan

Experiential event and live concert productions require reliable and durable technology that can be deployed quickly while operating without any issues and under very demanding conditions. Milano Pride is one Italy’s largest organized events celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and its allies. This year marked its 25th anniversary, where it drew an estimated 350,000 people to the streets of Milan. There was a month-long program of events, with the main events held during Pride Week. The Milano Pride Concert is part of the closing ceremonies and grand finale of Milano Pride. The open-air concert was held at the Arco della Pace in Piazza Sempione.

The Challenge

The Milano Pride Concert pro AV production team had to address three primary network-related challenges that were required to support continuous operations throughout the concert.

The first challenge was creating a high-performance network for the production infrastructure. Establishing this network backbone was crucial to accessing reliable internet, production computers, video streaming, and networked AV and other devices throughout the event.

Designing a secondary network dedicated to video cameras during the final concert was the next challenge. To streamline AV management, a stable and reliable connection would be required for video transmissions and production operations throughout the event, with the ability to monitor multiple video and production sources, including surveillance feeds and computers located outside of the production truck, all from a single monitor backstage.

The final challenge was providing wireless connectivity to operators for a centralized display solution that the production team could easily install and quickly deploy. They needed a pro AV solution that would allow them to monitor multiple video feeds and production sources through a single display. This would help simplify switching between different video sources to monitor general activities during the concert, while providing quick and flexible access to multiple video feeds and operational systems.

The Solution

With equipment operating in different locations and limited time for deployment, the networking solution needed to minimize cabling and simplify source management without disrupting the live production. TRENDnet solutions were selected to provide both wireless and wired network connectivity and centralized video source management. The combination delivered a practical, easy-to-deploy two-segment solution that remained operational throughout the two-day event.

The solution was split into two segments. The first segment focused on building the network backbone, secondary video network, and backstage wireless connectivity. TRENDnet’s 5-Port 10G Switch (TEG-S750) was positioned in the backstage area adjacent to the main stage. The switch served as the central networking point for all production infrastructure and was easily integrated into the existing infrastructure. The 10G switch also worked in conjunction with the TPE-TG51g long-range PoE+ switch , powering and networking multiple devices, including the wireless access points (TEW-921DAP) that blanketed the backstage area with wireless connectivity.

The 10G network backbone ensured fast and stable connectivity across all critical systems involved in the production. Once the central switch was operational, it delivered high-speed, reliable connectivity throughout the event. The dedicated internet line seamlessly reached all production systems without performance degradation or bandwidth limitations. Source management and display switching were performed using a mobile phone, making this solution simple and intuitive to use throughout the event.

Milano Pride production networking setup

The second segment focused on creating an easy-to-use wireless presentation solution that would simplify monitoring, while providing the production team members with flexible access to multiple video sources. To accomplish this, the Milano Pride pro AV production team deployed TRENDnet’s 4K Wireless Presenter Kit with Audio Support (TWP-100R1K), which included both the receiver and transmitters, plus additional 4K Wireless Presenter Add-On Transmitters (TWP-101T) spread across the backstage area and other parts of the venue.

The HDMI wireless presenter receiver was connected to the production truck’s main monitor, located in the backstage area of the concert venue. The transmitters sent video signals wirelessly from production computers located outside of the truck throughout the venue. This setup allowed operators to seamlessly alternate between different video sources and view them on a single monitor. The production team also utilized the TK-215i KVM switch , which allowed team members easy access to multiple computers with just one set of console controls .
