TRENDnet Expands Hive Cloud Network Manager with ERPS Support, Enhanced 2FA Protection, and Upcoming Fiber SFP Switch Integration
TRENDnet (5/20/2026)

TORRANCE, Calif. – May 20, 2026 - TRENDnet® (www.TRENDnet.com), a global leader and award-winning provider of reliable networking solutions for IT, surveillance, AV, transportation, and power distribution, announced major enhancements to its TRENDnet Hive™ remote cloud network management platform, including support for Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) and two-factor authentication (2FA). The company is also preparing to add cloud support to its line of SFP and SFP+ switches, further strengthening TRENDnet Hive’s role as a scalable, future-proof remote network management solution.

With ERPS support, TRENDnet improves network resilience by providing the most responsive fault tolerance, delivering recovery in under 50 milliseconds, minimizing downtime, and ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. ERPS is similar to spanning tree protocol (STP) and rapid spanning tree protocol (RSTP), but operates much faster, offering near-instant failover, high network availability, and efficient use of network bandwidth. ERPS also supports network loop prevention and various ring topologies.

In addition to ERPS, TRENDnet has added 2FA to the TRENDnet Hive portal. This critical digital security feature provides an extra layer of protection beyond traditional passwords. 2FA significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even if login credentials are compromised. As online threats continue to evolve, implementing 2FA has become a simple yet highly effective way for organizations and individuals to safeguard sensitive information, build user trust, and enhance overall network resilience with minimal impact on user experience.

“These updates reflect our ongoing commitment to delivering a powerful, reliable, and flexible remote cloud networking solution,” said Sonny Su, vice president of technology at TRENDnet. “With ERPS for resilience, 2FA for protection, and future SFP and SFP+ switch integration, Hive continues to evolve to meet the demands of modern network environments.”

Later this year, TRENDnet will integrate its managed fiber SFP and SFP+ switches into the TRENDnet Hive cloud ecosystem, enabling easy, remote network management of these modular switches. This will allow network administrators to seamlessly manage high-speed fiber deployments alongside existing infrastructure within a single, unified interface. The TRENDnet Hive remote cloud network manager already supports select managed, PoE+, and industrial switches; outdoor and indoor wireless access points; power distribution units; and routers and gateways.

Each new purchase of a TRENDnet Hive-compatible device includes a one-year free trial of the cloud service. After the trial, the service costs $9.99 USD per year per device. A Pro Add-On is available for a promotional price of $4.99 USD per year (regularly $24.99), which includes multi-user permissions, multi-tenancy creation, Wi-Fi heatmaps, and more.
