The adapter is not backwards compatible with previous generations of PCIe slots. Please keep in mind that if you connect the TEW-907ECH to a previous generation of wireless access points or Routers, you will be bottlenecked by the limitations of the older wireless standards and may not take full advantage of the adapter's capabilities. For example, if you are connecting to an 802.11g access point, you will only connect at 54Mbps.
