How can I improve the wireless performance?
FAQ ID: 4835 Product: TEW-940APBO (v1.0R)Updated:4/3/2024 8:27:08 AM
Each wireless access point is going to support various specifications. To take full advantage of your wireless access point, your wireless devices or clients must support the same specifications. For example, to take advantage of a new 802.11ax high speed access point, your connecting devices must also support 802.11ax standards. Channel selection and placement of your wireless hardware can also play a major role in performance. The access points should have a clear line of sight between them with no obstructions. Please also avoid enclosing the access point. The TEW-940APBO is a directional access point. They should be pointed directly at each other, center-to-center. If they are mounted at different elevations they should be angled to point at each other. The TEW-941APBO is Omni-directional but should be mounted on the same horizontal plane. Allow as much free space around the access point as possible. If you are in a crowded Wi-Fi environment you may need to change the channel in use. You can change the wireless channel in use under the Wireless Network settings. Try multiple channels to see if this improves wireless performance.
