Why am I connecting at lower speeds than what the adapter supports?
FAQ ID: 3364 Product: TUC-ET5GUpdated:1/20/2020 2:02:47 PM

The Switch, Router, or other network appliance you are connecting to must also support the same specifications to take full advantage of the adapters capabilities. For example, if you are connecting to a fast Ethernet Switch you will only connect at 100Mbps and if you connect to a gigabit Switch you will connect at 1000Mbps. For maximum performance the TUC-ET5G will need to connect to a 5GBASE-T network.

Connect the TUC-ET5G directly to the USB-C port in your computer. If you have any type of interface converter, docking station, or extension cables please remove them to ensure they are not causing the issues. If your computer does not have a USB-C port and you must use a type A adapter please try inserting the TUC-ET5G both ways into the adapter and testing the speed.
