TORRANCE, CA - August 15, 1995 — TRENDnet, the leading innovator in workgroup solutions, announces today the introduction of two new SNMP stackable Ethernet hubs, TE-4010 and TE-4012. The new hubs can accommodate network growth by offering a high level of functionality that connect diversified groups of users in numerous types of enterprises.

The TE-4010 is a 12 UTP-port, SNMP-managed hub that enhances network performance with its on-board, RISC processor. It can be stacked with up to 4 TE-4012s, acting as one logical repeater that provides SNMP manageability to maximum of 60 UTP ports. Only one SNMP management module is needed to manage an entire stack of five hubs. This presents the user with a flexible solution where they can add additional hub as their network needs change. The TE-4012 is a 12 UTP-port, controllable hub for the TE-4010. It can be stacked with TE-4010 to gain the SNMP functionality or use it alone. Both TE-4010 and TE-4012 have optional AUI, BNC, or FOIRL port modules for connecting to different cabling media.

The TE-4010/12 can be managed using TRENDnet’s own SNMP-based, management software: TRENDnet-View. Network management can be achieved by daisy-chaining all hubs together through a pair of management, daisy-chain ports located at the back of each hub. Once configured with network management, the TE-4010/12 hubs have an array of features that include: traffic monitoring, error control, and port enabling/disabling essential, to traffic control and troubleshooting.
