TRENDnet’s TEG-S2248 Simplifies SMB and Enterprise Networking, Offers Improved Port-Density

The TEG-S2248 features 48 x 10/100Mbps Auto-negotiating Fast Ethernet ports, 2 x 1000Mbps Auto-negotiating Gigabit Ethernet Ports, and 2 x mini-GBIC Ports. The Gigabit Ports and mini-GBIC ports are perfect for server-to-switch connections and can also be optimally used to cascade multiple switches for a superior Gigabit backbone.

Designed for demanding business environments, the TEG-S2248 offers an abundance of features, including Store-and-Forward switching architecture and a generous 1536Kb of RAM, which facilitates effective data buffering. LED lights on the switch’s exterior indicate network activity.

What is truly groundbreaking about the TEG-S2248 is its ultra-high port-density. It provides 52 total ports despite a meager 1U size – which is the size of virtually all 16 and 24-port switches. Instead of installing and cascading seven or more 16-port switches to provide network connectivity to 100 workstations/servers, a network administrator can now operate only two TEG-S2248 52-port switches to provide identical connectivity. Such a configuration will help businesses conserve space, power, and consequently, money.
