The TE-TC is a media converter that converts the 10Base-T Ethernet UTP medium to the thin Ethernet coaxial medium, and vice versa. It acts as low-cost Ethernet repeater, providing a UTP port for connection to a UTP cable segment, and a BNC port for connection to a thin coaxial cable segment.

The TE-TC is especially useful in connecting a small departmental workgroup to a main 10Base-T network. Applications of this media converter include connecting a group of stations located far away to a concentrator, saving for you both the installation of a more expensive 10Base-T hub and the cost and trouble of installing multiple segment cabling.
