TORRANCE, CA - July 1, 1996 — TRENDnet announces the introduction of the TE-5040 & the TE-5080 Switching Hubs, to sustain our lead as the provider of the broadest line of Ethernet hubs. These new switching hubs, which are 4-port or 8-port respectively, provide our customers with the latest Ethernet switching technology.

With today’s fast paced technology and increasing speed in networking, one should realize that communication is one of the key success factors to any company’s expansion. Although there is the constant stress for a company to increase to 100Mbps technology, the cheaper option may be to simply acquire the 10Mbps switching hub. This enables our customers to expand without having to replace all of their hardware. Instead, investing in a 10Mbps switching hub to run off their existing equipment could meet their needs for expansion.

Both of the products make use of 10Mbps technology and utilize with the cut-through and store/forward methods for maximum bandwidth throughput. The TE-5040 provides 4 switched ports for the total of 40 Mbps bandwidth increase; and the TE-5080 provides 8 switched ports for total of 80Mbps bandwidth increase using existing category 3, 4 or 5 UTP/STP cabling.
