Wake-On-LAN is an Ethernetcomputer networking standard that allows a computer to be turned on or woken up remotely by a network message called the Magic Packet.   The motherboard should be on ACPI G1 or G2 state (hibernating or sleep mode).  The network card must be on reserve power.
