What is the difference between PoE standard 802.3af (Mode A) and 802.3af (Mode B)?

There are currently two implementations of the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard; Mode A is powering the device over the data pins (1,2,3,6) on the Ethernet cable, and Mode B is powering the device over the spare pings (4,5,7,8) on the Ethernet cable. TRENDnet devices use the IEEE 802.3af (Mode A) implementation.
