TRENDnet announces Pre-G Wireless products that deliver 54Mbps in the 2.4GHz Frequency.

Torrance, CA – January 30, 2003 —TRENDnet, a leading manufacturer of networking products worldwide, today announced its new line of Pre-G wireless products: TRENDnet’s 802.11g draft complaint Wireless LAN Series. TRENDnet’s NEW 400 Series Pre-G 802.11g products will deliver up to 54Mbps bandwidth in the 2.4GHz frequency range. That’s the fastest wireless speed in its range! TRENDnet will offer a complete 802.11g wireless product line which will include TRENDnet’s TEW-401PC Wireless PC Adapter for Notebook, TEW-403PI Wireless PCI Adapter for Desktop, TEW-410APB Wireless Access Point with Bridge, and TEW-411BRP Wireless AP Router with 4-Port Switch.

TRENDnet’s products will run at speeds up to 54Mbps and operate on the same 2.4GHz frequency band as the standard 802.11b Wi-Fi products. This will provide TRENDnet customers with a fast, flexible and scalable combination of speed and range for their wireless solution. It will also offer 64/128-bit WEP Encryption to ensure a more secure transmission.

802.11g is the next generation of 802.11b. It delivers 54Mbps data rate throughput that is up to 5 times faster than the current 2.4GHz products. TRENDnet’s 802.11g Wireless products are backwards compatible with existing Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b products and with other 802.11g products. Current TRENDnet’s 802.11b products that are already installed in the network will continue to be operational and interoperable with the new 802.11g Wireless.

TRENDnet’s Pre-G 802.11g draft compliant wireless products will be shipping in the beginning of March 2003. A firmware upgrade will be available once the 802.11g standard is approved.
