What is Energy Star?
Energy Star is a joint program by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy (DOE). Energy Star certifies strict energy consumption thresholds for a variety of products with the goal of reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Products ranging from home appliances, office equipment, lighting, home electronics and networking hardware are Energy Star certified.

Why is Energy Star Certification Important?
Energy Star certified products are more energy efficient than non-certified products. They not only protect the environment, but also reduce your electrical bill. In 2007, it is estimated that Americans saved an average of USD 16 billion on their utility bills.
