TRENDnet ® and Orb Networks ™ Announce Partnership to Offer Simple and Seamless Solution for Consumers to Enjoy Digital Media in the Home and Everywhere They Go

New Bundle Gives Consumers Freedom to Consume TRENDnet Media on Any 'Screen' They Choose- TV, PCs, Laptops, PDAs and Mobile Devices

Torrance, CA – January 16, 2007 – TRENDnet ®, a best-in-class networking manufacturer of wired and wireless networking solutions, and Orb Networks™, a leading developer of software and services that unlocks the digital media on personal computers for enjoyment anywhere, today announced a partnership that will make it faster and easier for consumers to store, share and stream TRENDnet and other digital media in their homes and wherever they choose to consume media outside their homes.

TRENDnet plans to bundle Orb software with a series of new best-in-class hardware products including IP cameras, networked storage servers and routers, starting in the first quarter of 2007. This will give TRENDnet customers the choice of using either TRENDnet’s existing in-box software or Orb’s pioneering solution to view and control their media. Orb allows you to enjoy all digital media from your home PC on any other networked device with an internet connection – be it TV, other PCs, lap-tops, PDAs or mobile phones with streaming players. Digital media includes live TRENDnet IP camera feeds and recorded TV, music, Internet and home videos, photos and more.

TRENDnet’s Orb-optimized wired and wireless products deliver a digital media experience at much faster speeds. In addition, TRENDnet’s storage capabilities will allow consumers to store more digital content around their home PC without worries of hard disk drive limitations.

“With the accelerated increase of Internet accessible digital media, we are focused on designing hardware-based home networking solutions that not only allow you to capture and store content but also allow you to view and control content anywhere you have access to the Internet,” stated Zak Wood, Senior Marketing Manager for TRENDnet. “Orb gives our customers a secure industry leading product that allows them to control and consume their digital media from anywhere in the world. This clearly enhances the value of a TRENDnet home network.”

“The digital media that consumers care about also needs to be unleashed inside the home,” said Hervé Utheza, Vice President of TV Properties, at Orb Networks. “If we can give users access to their full media library thousands of miles away from home, we certainly want to give them the best experience possible inside the wireless home. The TRENDnet product family helps us achieve that goal.”

TRENDnet and Orb’s announcement comes at a time when the home networking and connected home market is rapidly changing and growing. The Diffusion Group predicts more than 160 million households worldwide will have home networks with almost one billion connected devices by 2010. ABI Research forecasts the core home networking market will grow to $10 billion by 2010 and the total value of network entertainment, data, storage and communications devices for consumers will be top $85 billion by the same period.
