TEW-687GA

TRENDnet is pleased to make available the first to market 450Mbps Wireless N Gaming Adapter, model TEW-687GA. This sleek and compact device networks computers, gaming consoles, televisions, and DVRs to the Internet with never before seen 450Mbps wireless connection speeds.

High performance adapters on the market today produce actual wireless throughput in the 90Mbps range. In-house tests reveal that TRENDnet’s TEW-687GA (when paired with a 450Mbps router such as TRENDnet’s TEW-691GR) will break the infamous 150Mbps performance barrier! TRENDnet has also recorded sustained wireless transmission bursts in excess of 200Mbps.

Setup is quick and simple, with no drivers to install and a Gigabit Ethernet port maintains high performance wired connections. Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) integrates other WPS supported wireless adapters at the touch of a button. The device features advanced Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna technology with three spatial streams per antenna, generating a maximum theoretical wireless throughput of 450Mbps.

Cut your cables and start winning with ultra-high performance 450Mbps wireless n!

GREENwifi

TRENDnet is pleased to be the first brand to launch energy efficient GREENwifi™ technology in TRENDnet wireless networking solutions, resulting in up to 50% energy savings.

GREENwifi™ reduces power consumption of wireless devices at different stages of the wireless information transfer process. GREENwifi™ reduces power consumption when a wireless device is: idle and not connected to another wireless client such as a computer (this represents 70% of the day for the average home router); idle and connected to a wireless client; downloading content; and uploading content. GREENwifi™ also reduces power consumption based on wireless signal strength. When a computer is closer to a GREENwifi™ router, and connects to the router with stronger signal strength, the router will automatically lower its output power when conveying information to that specific computer.

TRENDnet’s 150Mbps Micro Wireless N USB Adapter, model TEW-648UBM, currently features GREENwifi™ technology. Within two months TRENDnet will also release the following revised routers with embedded GREENwifi™: the 150Mbps Wireless N Home Router, model TEW-651BR (Version 2.0R), and the Wireless N Home Router, model TEW-652BRP (Version 3.0R). These products reduce electrical bills and help the environment in a small way.

TRENDnet’s TEW-692GR

CNET referenced the launch of TRENDnet’s TEW-692GR router and Netgear’s WNDR4000 router stating, “It's been getting more and more exciting in the wireless networking world recently since TRENDnet shipped the first 450Mbps single-band Wireless-N router, the TEW-691GR, and announced yesterday the first 450Mbps true-dual band Wireless N router (model TEW-692GR). Netgear today joined the party by announcing its first 450Mbps dual-band router, the N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (model WNDR4000)… The WNDR4000, however, unlike the TEW-692GR from TRENDnet, offers the high 450Mbps speed only on the 5GHz frequency band, while the 2.4GHz band remains at the traditional dual-stream 300Mbps speed.”
